Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data NutriAI (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the website nutriaiscan.com and the NutriAI mobile app, why we use it, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who we are
The website nutriaiscan.com and the NutriAI app are operated by NutriAI, which is responsible for the processing of your personal data described here. You can reach us at vladaverti99@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect on the website
- Usage data via Google Analytics: pages you visit, how you reached the site, device and browser type, approximate location (country/city derived from your IP address) and interactions such as clicks on the “Download on the App Store” button. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland this happens only after you accept analytics cookies.
- Technical data processed by our hosting provider to deliver the site and keep it secure, such as IP address, browser type and time of the request.
- Your cookie choice, stored in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again.
- Calculator inputs (for example height, weight or age in the BMI, macro and protein calculators) are processed only in your browser and are not sent to us or stored.
3. Data we collect in the app
- Food photos you take or upload, and the nutrition estimates and meal logs created from them.
- Profile details you provide, such as age, height, weight, activity level, goals, dietary preferences and language.
- Subscription status and purchase information (payments themselves are processed by Apple; we do not receive your card details).
- Device and usage data: device identifiers, app version, crash logs and usage analytics; the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking in the iOS prompt.
4. Why we use your data and our legal bases
- To provide the app and its features, including AI food recognition, nutrition estimates, meal history and subscriptions — necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To measure how the website and app are used and improve them — based on your consent where required (for example, analytics cookies on the website), otherwise on our legitimate interest in improving our service.
- To keep our services secure, prevent abuse and fix errors (hosting logs, crash reports) — based on our legitimate interests.
- To understand which campaigns and pages lead to app installs (attribution) — based on your consent where required.
- To answer your requests and comply with legal obligations.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
On the website we use Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>, stored for up to 2 years) to collect statistics. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland see a banner and analytics cookies are set only after they click “Accept”; until then Google Analytics may receive cookieless signals without identifiers. You can change your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
Links to download the app go through a tracking link of our attribution partner Singular (sng.link), which records the click (including IP address and device/browser information) to attribute app installs to the website, and then forwards you to the App Store.
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that process it on our behalf to run our services:
- Google (Google Analytics, Firebase) — analytics, cloud storage and app infrastructure.
- OpenAI — AI recognition of the food in your photos.
- Sentry — error and crash monitoring.
- Adapty — subscription management.
- Singular — install attribution and campaign measurement.
- Hosting providers for the website and our servers.
- Apple — App Store distribution and payments, under Apple’s own privacy policy.
7. International transfers
Some of these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States. In these cases transfers are protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
8. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. App data is kept while you use the app and deleted or anonymised when you ask us to delete it or when it is no longer needed. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account (at most 14 months). Logs and crash reports are kept for a limited time.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing before the withdrawal). To exercise these rights, email vladaverti99@gmail.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — in Latvia, the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija), or the authority in your country of residence.
10. Children
Our services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of this page; significant changes will be announced on the website or in the app.
